Timothy Kellers new book, The Reason for God is an excellent book to share with those seeking to know God and grow in their relationship with him. The first part of the book handles objections and the second part challenges seekers and doubters to come to a reasonable understanding of the reality of God.

His chapter on the Dance of God deserves highlighting. Here are a few excerpts.

“The life of the Trinity is characterized not by self-centeredness but by mutually self-giving love….Each person of the Trinity loves, adores, defers to, and rejoices in the others. That creates a dynamic, pulsating dance of joy and love. The early leaders of the Greek church had a word for this- perichoresis. Notice our word “choreography” within it. It means to “dance or flow around.”

He quotes jonathan edwards the famous colonial theologian who says, ” The universe is an explosion of God’s glory. Perfet goodness, beauty, and love radiate from God and draw creatures to ever increasingly share in the Godhead’s joy and delight…The ultimate end of creation, then, is union in love between God and loving creatures.”

How great is our God who desires to Dance with us!
